Many people these days have little time to make models and some dont
enjoy the process of building. They do however get a thrill from flying a model. This is
quite understandable in todays busy world and the emergence of ARTF models a decade
or so ago provided the answer to these peoples needs.
Many of the early offerings were not good. Both materials and design were suspect and in
some cases this lead to dissatisfaction. As time went on the quality of materials, design
and flying characteristics improved to the standard we expect today. Our range of ARTFs
are assembled by hand from LASER cut parts designed on computers by highly experienced
model flyers. The accuracy of fit is second to none and the hand finishing of the
structure and quality of covering makes these models top notch in their class.
Not content to accept models without critical analysis Flair samples each and every model
design to ensure the quality is up to standard. They are examined, built and flown.
Modifications may be requested and a second sample evaluated. Only when Flair is satisfied
are models put on sale. There have been instances of ARTFs being refused by Flair on the
grounds of unsuitability. These have been few and very rare indeed from our current
supplier in China.
One area of contention is hardware sourced in the Far East. Not always is the quality
adequate. Flair eliminates this potential problem by substituting hardware from its own
suppliers. These components are high quality and well know through modelling circles.
Instructions are important and sometimes translations from the Chinese into English leave
a little to be desired. At Flair we include supplementary instructions to add extra
explanation or to suggest alternative methods that we prefer. If we suggest an alternative
method that requires extra hardware then we supply the extra hardware.
No matter how good the pilot there will always be times when they need a few spares. Flair
stocks the main items for all of the ARTF range. Anything from a cowl to a wing set can be
supplied.
